Pan African Conference for Ministers of Local Government, 20 - 22 November 2007, Monrovia, Liberia
The Municipal Development Partnership for Eastern and Southern Africa in collaboration with UNDESA , UNCDF , UNDP and the Government of Liberia is organizing the third Pan African Conference for Ministers of Local Government. The conference is scheduled to take place from the 20th - 22nd of November 2007 in Monrovia, Liberia.
The theme of the Conference is "From policy to implementation: Challenges and Strategies for effective Implementation of Decentralized Governance in Africa" . The principal objective of the conference is to give an opportunity to ministers and their officials to review and exchange experiences on leadership in Africa with respect to the implementation of decentralized policies and local level development. The conference is intended for ministers in charge of local governments and their senior civil servants, local government political and administrative/technical leaders, representatives from civil society, representatives of European Regional Assemblies and Municipalities participating in the Euro-Africa Partnership for Decentralized Governance as well as representatives of the international development partners. >>Read more
