Areas of Expertise

The Coalition was formed in 2000 and is comprised of 46 CSOs committed to the right to quality basic education in Malaw i and is part of the MEJN (see above).

CSCQBE focuses on national budget monitoring of education tracking expenditure flows and impact.  The coalition offers capacity building of education sector and CSOs in budget tracking, advocacy, research, and communication strategies.  CSCBQE also works towards the sensitization and mobilization of communities around Education for All (EFA) Goals.

CSCQBE ia a CSBI grantee and is currently designing a strategy and tools for budget monitoring advocacy and media attention.  The coalition is also conducting a comprehensive Budget Monitoring Data collection Exercise for the 2005/6 financial year following the approval of the year's budget.
